This Summer, we invite you to #ShareASpritz with your family, your best friends and your neighbours near or far. We’ve curated recipes, playlists and more to inspire your next Spritz session and bring a touch of Aperol orange to the season of celebration.
Summer entertaining doesn’t need to be all BBQ’s, day clubs and beach dates. Make the most of the warmer weather with an unforgettable evening in your very own backyard cinema. If there isn’t space in the yard or happen to be an apartment dweller, the concept isn’t by any means lost – all you need is a blank wall and a space for the Spritz Squad to enjoy a living room picnic.
Share a Summer memory
Whether it’s a movie marathon with your friends alfresco-style, a picture night with your family or evening Aperitivo with your neighbours, creating a silver screen under the stars is a Summer memory set to last.
What you’ll need
- A Projector
- A sheet or curtain pulled tight or blank wall
- Extension cord
- Cushions or bean bags and blankets
- A laptop or DVD player
How to Set Up
Secure a bed sheet to your back fence or to your clothes line and tie down with weights to pull tight, away from the wind. Connect your speakers and projector to a laptop and test to ensure the sound is clear and image is centred.
Now that you have the technical elements out of the way you’re free to decorate!
Create a cosy space with picnic rugs, chairs, bean bags and pillows. The warm light of citronella candles not only look great but help keep the pesky mosquitos away. Fairy lights and lanterns help to guide the way and make the space look extra special.
Share a snack
No matter the movie you’re watching – the right balance of snacks is essential to enjoy with your freshly-made Aperol Spritz (TOP TIP: Always great to have something fresh, something salty and something sweet). Get creative with some homemade popcorn flavours mixing butter & a salty spice mix, or add some choc chips for those with a sweeter tooth.
To avoid scrambling around in the dark for a snack to nibble on, invite your friends over a little earlier to create their own Aperitivo box, catered just to their liking. Libby Gardner, Aperitivo adorer and founder of The Platter Project shares her helpful hints to sourcing the best ingredients and styling tips to balance colour, texture and taste for the Perfect Aperitivo Platter.
